Note: Each Thursday I will post a little something to inspire us to finish the week strong. These Thursday Thoughts will be a quote, poem, piece of music, artwork, or inspirational video. Congratulations, you made it over the hump and let’s finish the week together.
Philippe Petit is such an interesting man. He is a Frenchman best known for his tightrope walks including his famous wire walk in 1973 between the World Trade Center Towers. As we approach the anniversary of 9/11 let us reflect on the best of the human spirit, something that Philippe has in abundance.
I recently heard Phillipe talk on a TED Radio Hour Podcast. He reflected on his life and discussed lessons learned. His words define him as an inspiration for all of us. Here are a few quotes from his talk:
“Faith replaces doubt in my dictionary.”
“By inspiring ourselves we inspire others.”
“Because it is here.” (tapping on his chest). When asked if he relates to Edmund Hillary’s comment about why he climbed Mount Everest, “Because it was there.”
“Impossible is a human invention.”
“I can not kill the child in me.”
Watch a bit of the man himself. By inspiring himself, he indeed inspires us too.
Michael, I love his movie (documentary) and loved this clip. Amazing man. Energy oozes from him. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Somehow I missed watching the documentary film. I plan to do so – yes, such energy and spirit.
